Jason Preeo, Head Boys Golf Coach
Coach Jason Preeo joined the Valor coaching staff in 2009 as the Head Coach for the Boys Golf program. Since taking the helm, Coach Preeo has helped lead the team to two State Championships (2009 and 2010) and a State Runner-Up finish (2011). Along with his success teaching the sport, Coach Preeo is also a daunting opponent on the course himself. In 2010, he had the privilege of competing in the US Open at Pebble Beach. When asked why he coaches at Valor, Coach Preeo said, “Valor offers a unique coaching opportunity in that, not only does it offer an unparalleled education combined with the pursuit of excellence in all endeavors, but most importantly it uses this platform to glorify Christ.”

Season Summary

The Valor Boys Golf team wrapped up another season this fall with a runner-up finish at the state tournament at Pelican Lakes Golf Course. With a mix of youth and experience, the team was poised for another run at a state title and fell just short despite finishing 7 under par for two rounds. Senior Wyndham Clark led the way by capturing his second individual title with impressive scores of 64-64 to set a potentially unbreakable scoring record at the state championships. Our season was certainly a success as it included 11 tournament victories, including our own Valor Invitational at Lone Tree. The boys swept the Jeffco League play and six players earned All-Jeffco League honors despite only five being allowed to play each week. Youngsters, Josh Seiple and Jake Staiano, along with senior John Galgano finished first, second and third respectively as individuals. Second team honors went to Seniors Blake Patt erson and Aaron Wilk and freshman Ross Macdonald. Senior Beau Kyster, a third year Varsity team member, was the final member of our Varsity team this season and was able to represent the team at every prestigious invitational in which we participated. With five seniors graduating this spring it will certainly be a time of transition for the team, but our JV and JV2 teams have a number of fine young men ready to step up and meet those challenges. Despite all the team and individual success, the highlight of our season was undoubtedly our team retreat in which we were able to take 22 of our boys up to the mountains for a special time of fun, fellowship and spiritual growth. Our bonding certainly showed as nearly every one of our team members traveled to root on our boys at the State Championship. While only four were able to compete during the tournament, there was no question our entire team was represented and the Valor Boys Golf team was able to showcase what we ultimately v alue and just how blessed we are.
