Dan Buttolph, Head Boys Lacrosse Coach
Coach Dan Buttolph took over as head coach of the Boys Lacrosse program in 2011 after serving as an assistant coach in 2009 and 2010. In 2011, Coach Buttolph led the team to its first post-season appearance in program history. After coaching high school lacrosse at other high schools, Coach Buttolph says it is “his desire to use the sport of lacrosse to make a positive impact on the lives of the players on the team and those in our community” that drew him to Valor and has allowed him the freedom to coach young men in more than just the sport of Lacrosse.

Eagles Wrap-up Regular Season

May 09, 2012

On Monday, the Boys Lacrosse team finished out their season with a loss to Air Academy 9-6. The rematch of last year's first round playoff game was a tightly contested affair which saw our senior class demonstrating their growth over the past four years. Ty Scott played exceptional defense, both as an on the ball defender and as a physical force in the team sliding package. Alex Hinesley continued his excellent play for Valor by scooping up contested ground balls and moving the ball up field to set up his teammates for success. Blake Allen suffered a tough injury to his ribs early in the game on Monday. Prior to the injury, Blake played his trademark tough defense, leaving his mark on the game long after he left. Jamie Neely had his typical excellent game in the net on Monday. Jamie made a dozen saves, many of them leading to fast breaks the other way for Valor.

Preston Knight continued his strong play in return from his injury to notch a goal and act as a stabilizing force for the offense. Evan Mori continued his excellent play in the second half of the season with two more goals as he drove down the lane and finished twice to pace the Eagles. Brad Kraatz hung in there all season despite taking a physical pounding from our opponents. Kaman Stark and Trevor Davis were huge off of the bench on Monday, providing Valor with a spark when the team needed it. Kaman and Trevor will always be remembered for their effort and commitment to the team.

Due to injury, Justin Hawkins and Jordan Clark were not able to play. Both players showed their heart and commitment to the team by being on the sidelines to lift up their teammates during the game.

This senior class took the Valor Lacrosse program to the next level over the last four years. Their legacy will continue long after they graduate this spring.
